How Garlic Healed Me

I'm one of those people that do everything they can to stay healthy in order to avoid an expensive doctor's visit. Don't get me wrong, I'm not above seeing a physician...if I need a limb sewn back on.
I have little, if any, faith that health care in America, was designed for the society's best interest. I believe that doctors, hospitals & pharmaceutical companies are blue-blood brothers, born & bred by the American dollar.

Let's face it, we live in the land of opportunity, a capitalistic society that drives the well-being of our economy. That said, there is no end to snakeskin oil and their salesmen.

So excuse you, me, if I'm not making an appointment for every sneeze and sniffle, good health care starts with me. I am fully accountable to my own body, to understand it, care for it and seek out the best. Most times, the "best" means avoiding opinions of those who DO not know how your body operates & the suggestions/prescriptions that follow.

So when I had a UTI a few months ago, I knew what to do. I drank lots of water, unsweetened, 100% cranberry juice from Trader Joes and "pottied" (as my children call it) as often as I could. Unfortunately that wasn't enough and the infection spread to my kidneys, something I wanted to avoid at ALL costs. I continued on with my current treatment with the plan that I would research and try different natural methods before the desperate attempt of a doctor's visit. I knew I would be given a chemical antibiotic, and I also understood that prescribed antibiotics can cause yeast infection & may not even work.

Meanwhile, I had flu-like symptoms and lower back pain for a few days. I discovered garlic to be a very natural antibiotic through research, specifically on KellyMom.com . Though the suggested use was for
Mastitis, a condition of an engorged breast, I knew it was the answer to what ailed me.

The key was eating it raw. Cooking or heating the garlic in any way destroys the Allicin (the burn & smell) that kills the infection, rendering it useless in that regard. Although garlic cooked still has LOTS of benefits.

So I took four to five RAW garlic cloves a day. With a drink, at different times. By day three, my symptoms are nowhere to be found! To ensure that my body/kidney was cleansed of infection, I kept this regimen for a week. By a week's end, I was completely healed!

Three months later, here I am, a complete testimony that good health care doesn't have to come in the form of a prescription and a hefty bill.

My children were so impressed that THEY started taking RAW garlic.

...imagine that, healing a kidney infection for a buck fifty...

  3. I have used raw garlic in the past to cure viral ear infections and it really works. I'm afraid I got a kidney infection now. I'm giving the garlic a chance before I give in and go to the doctor. Thanks for your post

    1. Hi!

      In my post I say...

I wrote this post four years ago. No problems since. I can't speak for what it will do for you. I encourage you to continue to do your research, specifically on garlic and how garlic acts as a natural antibiotic. The two links I provide at the end of the post are still live at this time, that's a good place to start.
