Publishing Opportunity: Nordic Naturals®’ What’s Essential™ Essay Scholarship - $5,000 to be Awarded to One Lucky College Student!

As part of the company’s “What’s Essential” campaign, Nordic Naturals is challenging the next generation to learn what’s essential to them, inspire healthy and positive choices in others, and become the new face of change that shapes our world. New and returning college students in 2013 are invited to compete for the $5000 award via Facebook.
Nordic Naturals Scholarship Flier

Scholarship applicants will be asked to answer the question: What are the essential components of the education that your generation needs to make a positive impact on the world? The applicant who best answers the question in 1000-1500 words will receive $5,000 for college and a year’s supply of Nordic Naturals’ award-winning omega-3 products. Details are available now at www.whatsessential.com.

In addition, children and young adults need to consume healthy fats in their diet. Omega-3 fatty acids are “smart fats” because they help your brain continue to develop long after birth. In fact, there is scientific evidence linking the consumption of omega-3 fatty acids to improved attention, learning, memory, behavior and higher test scores in children. You can read about this research at www.omega-research.com.

Nordic Naturals wants families to know the importance of omega-3 fats for children’s health. Experts agree that a purified fish oil supplement is the best source of the omega-3 essential fatty acids EPA and DHA that a child needs for proper health. Omega-3s are considered “essential” because they’re required for optimal health but cannot be produced by the body and must be obtained by the diet or supplementation. Both of these essential nutrients, but particularly DHA, have been shown to support proper brain, eye, and nervous system development as children grow.

We are looking to partner with 40 blogs to help spread the word about the What’s Essential Essay Scholarship. We are asking bloggers to share:
