I’m a huge believer in healthy fats. I believe that “fats” in general have been tarnished due to the introduction of trans-fats, a chemical process to preserve or maintain shelf-life.  Studies consistently show that Omegas are essential to a health. As a matter of fact, they are typically called EFAs, Essential Fatty Acids. EFAs are essential because they are needed, but cannot be produced by the body, and must be obtained from diet or supplementation.

THE REVIEW

I was given an opportunity to try the Ultimate Omega D3. Ultimate D3 “provides high levels of the omega-3 essential fatty acids EPA and DHA”. Additionally, Ultimate contains 1000 I.U. of vitamin D3, cholecalciferol which is the natural form of vitamin D produced by the body and better absorbed.

The Ultimate contains 60 soft gels in lemon flavor. The soft gels are pretty big, which I found reasonable given it’s name. :) Even if they were small, I wouldn’t be able to swallow them. I’ve ALWAYS had issues with swallowing capsules and pills my entire life. So, I had to puncture the gel with my teeth and squeeze the oil out. The oil had a yummy lemon flavor. The best part is, it hardly tastes of fish! My husband enjoyed taking the Omegas knowing, he was supplementing his health. Even more important, as he is pursuing an athletic & active lifestyle.
